Beth El of Manhattan's practice of Two Testament (Messianic) Judaism involves exciting and instructional worship services in the beautiful CPC cathedral sanctuary. These services contain uplifting traditional liturgies, vibrant modern musical worship led by singers and a band, reading and teaching from the Torah scroll (our rabbi translates and teaches directly from the scroll itself in the Biblical model of Nehemiah 8:8) and a sermon. Services are usually followed by a "kiddush" of wine/grape juice and challah (bread). Intermittently, there are also "onegs" - informal buffet style reception lunches immediately following the kiddush. There are also children's classes in a highly-evolved on-site Hebrew School every Shabbat. Intermittent classes on special subjects are taught by the rabbi and visiting teachers, as well as guest musical ministry visits from time to time.
Beth El's rabbi is acknowleged internationally for 3 decades as a leading Messianic Jewish teacher, speaker, and musical worship composer/performer; and the Rebbetzin (rabbi's wife) has also been a leader in local synagogual life in two major American cities, and as national officer in the American Messianic movement's largest affiliation.
